SBM Offshore is one of the leader in offshores services for the energy Industry. The company employs circa 4750 employees worldwide and is one of the jewel of the Dutch industry. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis. In 2016 SBM Offshore had a revenue of USD 2,013 million and an EBITDA of USD 772 million.

SBM Offshore which is highly dependent on the health of the oil & gas business is trying to diversify by investing more in services for renewable energy. SBM Offshore has recently developed its own floating turbine concept and will implement these with cooperation of EDF and Siemens in France. The development of a special tension leg platform by SBM allows a faster installation of the wind turbine offshore in less than one day. Offshore wind energy is known to be expensive, therefore this innovation from SBM offshore might help to reduce the coast of this technology. The growing needs towards vessel with special requirements for the floating windfarms might become a significant sub activity of SBM Offshore. However, the future development remains to be seen.

At the moment SBM Offshore shares are traded at EUR 15.47 (01.11.2017). The stock reached its annual high at EUR 16.17 (11.04.2017) and its low at EUR 12.15 (09.11.2016). 11 analysts rated SBM Offshores on Buy, 4 on Hold and 2 on Sell. The 12-months target price is estimates with EUR 17.26. On top, SBM Offshore has a current dividend yield of 1.39 percent. SBM Offshore current market capitalization equals EUR 3,179 million. However the future development remains to be seen.
